List of Top Selling Compact SUVs of August 2023 in India

1. Maruti Suzuki Brezza:

The Maruti Suzuki Brezza leads the pack, selling 14,572 units in August 2023. Although this figure represents a 4% decrease from the same period last year, the Brezza retains its position as India’s best-selling compact SUV.

2. Tata Punch:

Tata Motors’ Punch secured the second position with a commendable sales figure of 14,523 units. Notably, this represents a robust year-on-year growth of 21%, underlining Tata’s rising popularity in the segment.

3. Maruti Suzuki Fronx:

Claiming the third spot is another Maruti offering, the Suzuki Fronx, with a total sales tally of 12,164 units. Despite stiff competition, the Fronx maintains a strong presence in the market.

4. Hyundai Venue:

The Hyundai Venue secured the fourth position, with sales of 10,948 units. While it experienced a minor YoY decline of 3%, the Venue remains a popular choice among compact SUV enthusiasts.

5. Tata Nexon:

Tata recently unveiled the facelifted Nexon, generating anticipation among buyers. The outgoing model recorded sales of 8,049 units, reflecting a YoY drop of 47%. Stay tuned for the official prices of the facelifted Nexon, set to be announced on September 14.

6. Hyundai Creta:

In the second half of the table, Hyundai’s Exter secured the sixth position with total sales of 7,430 units. Hyundai’s strong brand presence continues to attract buyers to the Creta.

7. Mahindra XUV300:

Mahindra’s XUV300 recorded 4,992 units in sales for August 2023, reflecting a healthy YoY growth of 16%. An updated version of the XUV300 with significant improvements is in the pipeline and is expected to debut in early 2024.

8. Kia Sonet:

The Kia Sonet secured 4,120 units in sales, showing a YoY decline of 47%. Despite this, Kia’s offering maintains a presence in the competitive compact SUV landscape.

9. Nissan Magnite:

Nissan’s Magnite secured the ninth position with sales of 2,258 units, experiencing a decline of 29% compared to the previous year. Nissan may be looking to reinvigorate the Magnite’s appeal in the market.

10. Renault Kiger:

Closing the list is the Renault Kiger, with a modest sales figure of 929 units. Renault may explore strategies to boost Kiger’s performance in the coming months.
