Hyundai Creta is a popular compact SUV that has been available in the Indian market since 2015. Over the years, it has undergone several updates, and the current version is available in the Indian market. To the best of my knowledge cutoff of September 2021 comes in five main variants – E, EX, S, SX, and SX(O). In this note, I will explain each of these variants in detail.
E Variant:
The E variant is the base variant of the Hyundai Creta. It comes with a 1.5-liter petrol engine or a 1.5-liter diesel engine. The petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 115 PS and a peak torque of 144 Nm, while the diesel engine produces a maximum power output of 115 PS and a peak torque of 250 Nm. The engines had joined to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The E variant has features such as dual airbags, rear parking sensors, a touchscreen infotainment system, and power windows.
EX Variant:

It adds features such as a rearview camera, a rear-seat armrest, and electrically adjustable and foldable outside rearview mirrors. The EX variant also comes with the option of an automatic gearbox. The automatic gearbox is a CVT for the petrol engine and a torque converter for the diesel engine.
S Variant:
The S variant is available with all three engine options – the 1.5-liter petrol engine, the 1.5-liter diesel engine, and a 1.4-liter turbo-petrol engine. The turbo-petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 140 PS and a peak torque of 242 Nm. It had mated to a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox. The S variant adds features like projector headlamps, LED DRLs, automatic climate control, and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The S variant has features like a wireless phone charger and a sunroof.
SX Variant:
The SX variant is available among all three engine options. It adds features like a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a Bose premium sound system, and ambient lighting. The SX variant has features of automatic headlamps, LED taillights, and front fog lamps.
SX(O) Variant:
The SX(O) variant is the top-end variant of the Hyundai Creta. It is available with all three engine options. It adds features such as a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, a powered driver seat, and front parking sensors. The SX(O) variant has features like a 360-degree camera, paddle shifters (for the automatic variants), and a large panoramic sunroof.
In addition to these five main variants, some special editions of the Hyundai Creta may be available in markets. These special editions may have additional features or cosmetic upgrades, such as a blacked-out roof, red brake calipers, or unique alloy wheels.
