In India’s fiercely competitive C-segment SUV market, two new entrants, the Honda Elevate and the Citroen C3 Aircross, are set to compete for supremacy. While both automakers are vying for the top spot in this lucrative segment, they take different approaches. Let’s do a detailed comparison of these two vehicles to see which one comes out on top.
Honda Elevate vs Citroen C3 Aircross
The Citroen C3 Aircross stands out as the segment’s only three-row SUV, with dimensions of 4,323 mm in length, 1,796 mm in width, and 1,669 mm in height. It has a generous 2,671 mm wheelbase and 200 mm ground clearance. The Citroen C3 Aircross also has a large 511-liter boot space, though the 7-seater variant reduces this to 444 liters.
The Honda Elevate, on the other hand, is slightly shorter than the C3 Aircross, measuring 4,312 mm in length, 1,790 mm in width, and 1,650 mm in height. It has a 2,650 mm wheelbase and an impressive 220 mm ground clearance. The Honda Elevate has a commendable 458-liter boot space, demonstrating thoughtful design.
To entice buyers, both vehicles are loaded with modern features. The Citroen C3 Aircross comes standard with a 10.2-inch infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A 7-inch digital driver display, ABS, EBD, ESC, hill-hold assist, and TPMS are among the other features.
The Honda Elevate isn’t far behind, with a plethora of features such as a sunroof, six airbags, hill-start assist, and vehicle stability assist. It also has a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and the Honda Sensing ADAS suite, which includes safety features like a collision mitigation braking system, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, road departure warning, and automatic high beam assist.
Under the Hood:
Both the Honda Elevate and the Citroen C3 Aircross have a single-engine option. The Citroen C3 Aircross is powered by a 1.2-liter turbocharged engine that produces 110 bhp and 190 Nm of peak torque and is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
The Honda Elevate, on the other hand, is powered by a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 119 bhp and 145 Nm of torque. It can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-step CVT transmission.
The Citroen C3 Aircross starts at an enticing Rs 9.99 lakh ex-showroom. Meanwhile, the Honda Elevate starts at Rs 10.99 lakh, a difference of Rs 1 lakh between the two. The top-end Citroen C3 Aircross variants have yet to be revealed, but the Honda Elevate has an ex-showroom price of up to Rs 16 lakh. Finally, competition between the Honda Elevate and Citroen C3 Aircross is expected to heat up in India’s C-segment SUV market. Both vehicles have distinct features and capabilities, and the choice will most likely come down to personal preferences and priorities. Car enthusiasts and prospective buyers can expect exciting times ahead as these two contenders vie for supremacy in this highly competitive segment.
