In an exciting development for car enthusiasts, Tata Motors has officially launched the 2023 model of its popular sub-4-meter SUV, the Tata Nexon, in the Indian market. Having previously unveiled images and specifications, the company has revealed that the starting price for the new Nexon will be Rs 8.1 lakh (ex-showroom). With the introduction of the second facelift, the Nexon has undergone significant design and interior changes. This article provides an overview of the latest updates on the Tata Nexon.
Tata Nexon Facelift Launched in India- Key Details
The Tata Nexon, a top-seller in its category, is known for its versatility. In the latest iteration, the trim level names have been refreshed. The new variants include Smart, Smart+, Smart+ (S), Pure+, Pure+ (S), Creative, Creative+, Creative+ (S), Fearless, Fearless (S), and Fearless+ (S). The price range for these models spans from Rs 8.1 lakh to Rs 13 lakh.
While the design and features have evolved, the engine options remain unchanged. The Tata Nexon continues to offer a 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine and a 1.5-liter turbo diesel engine. The base petrol variants are equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission, while the top-spec petrol automatic variants feature a 7-speed DCT. Additionally, a 6-speed AMT unit is available for the mid-level petrol and diesel options, which come with manual transmission.
Safety features have been prioritized in the new Tata Nexon. These include a 360-degree surround view camera, connected car technology, a wireless charger, ventilated front seats, and an air purifier. The vehicle is equipped with six airbags as standard, along with electronic stability control (ESC), ABS, EBD, ISOFIX child seat anchoring points, parking sensors, and emergency and breakdown call assist.
The exterior of the Tata Nexon has undergone significant changes. The front fascia now features sleeker LED DRLs, vertically split LED headlights, a prominent upper grille displaying the Tata Motors logo, and a new bumper. The vehicle rides on 16-inch alloy wheels, and the rear showcases a new LED tail light pattern with a connected design. Minor updates have also been made to the rear bumper.
Inside the cabin, the Tata Nexon boasts a revamped dashboard and a spacious 10.25-inch touchscreen display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay wireless connectivity. The instrument cluster has been updated to include fullscreen maps. Automatic variants come with a redesigned gear selector on the center console. The vehicle also features a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo, audio and cruise control toggles, and a futuristic touch-sensitive panel. The upholstery adds a touch of elegance with its purple accents.
