After a lot of hard work, today, Nissan is considered one of the largest automakers in the world by having a wide range of cars, trucks, and SUVs sold in more than 160 countries. With a rich background history, the company has played major roles in the Japanese economy and innovations in automotive technology.

Nissan has been launching cars for decades and in today’s article we are going to about one of its launches, The Nissan Kicks. On the other side, with a great reputation for launching reliable and innovative vehicles, Hyundai is a global automotive brand that is based in South Korea. This company was founded in 1967 by a South Korean conglomerate, Chung Ju-Yung. And by now, Hyundai has become one of the world’s largest automakers.

Basically, in today’s article, we are going to compare the two launches of Nissan and Hyundai, The Nissan Kicks and The Hyundai Kona. Launching date:

In 2016, Nissan launched Nissan Kicks in Brazil and later it was introduced to other markets. On the other hand, Hyundai Kona was launched by Hyundai in March 2018.

Exterior design:

With a glossy and sporty exterior, Nissan Kicks is a very attractive car. It has a V-motion grille on the front of it. It has LED headlights and alloy wheels 17 inches. Nissan Kicks also has roof rails and a rear diffuser. While the Hyundai Kona has a very bold and very modern design that makes it look attractive and different from other models. It has a streaming grille at its front and it features LED headlights. It has alloy wheels of 16 inches. The Hyundai Kona has roof rails, a shark-fin antenna, and a rear spoiler.

Interior design:

With a spacious and wide interior, the Nissan Kicks has a very comfortable interior. It features a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto, Apple Car Play, and a six-speaker audio system. Further, it also has some features like automatic climate control, push-button start, and a rearview camera. It has some advanced features as well. For example, automatic emergency braking and blind spot warning. Meanwhile, the Hyundai Kona has a very stylish and modern interior and it consists of an 8-inch infotainment system, Apple Car Play, Android Auto, and a six-speaker audio system. The Kona has a spacious and wide interior with comfortable seating. It has advanced safety measures like forward collision warning and lane departure warning. The car has also modern features like automatic climate control and a rearview camera.


  The Nissan Kicks has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine through which 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque is produced. Alternatively, Hyundai Kona comes with a 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine.

Seating Capacity:

The seating capacity of Nissan Kicks is five people and the Hyundai Kona also comes with a seating capacity of five people.


The exterior dimensions of Nissan kicks are 4291.14 mm in length, 1760.22 mm in width, and 1584.96 mm in height. While on the other side, the measurements of the Hyundai Kona are 4165.6 mm in length, 1800.86 mm in width, and 1549.5 mm in height.


The Nissan Kicks comes with a wheelbase of 2619.74 mm and a ground clearance of 177.8 mm Meanwhile the Hyundai Kona has a wheelbase of 2600.99 mm and a ground clearance of 170.18 mm.

Fuel Capacity:

 The Nissan Kicks has a fuel capacity of around 10.8 gallons which is equal to almost 41 liters while the Hyundai Kona comes with a fuel capacity of almost 13.2 gallons which is equal to around 50 litres.


  The Nissan Kicks has received 4- a star safety rating from the NHTSA which stands for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration while on the other side, the Hyundai Kona has received a safety rating of 5- stars from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
