Lamborghini going electric?: The migration to electric vehicles is currently taking the car industry by storm. Even low-volume luxury automakers like Lamborghini are becoming involved in it. In the past year or so, we have received statements from automakers claiming they would transition to totally electric vehicles in five, ten, or fifteen years.

The sale of brand-new cars with conventional combustion engines is prohibited in some nations worldwide. Many of them, including the UK, will outlaw them by 2030, and Norway will do so in 2025.
Though it won’t be a two-seat sports car, Lamborghini is in the early phases of designing a four-seat electric vehicle. The Italian automaker’s first electric vehicle hasn’t yet been decided upon in great detail beyond that.
Every automaker will eventually have to move to all-electric vehicles, and Lamborghini has recently made it known that it will do so in the future.
The Italian automobile manufacturer has announced its roadmap for automation, outlining how it intends to abandon gasoline and internal combustion engines.
The company’s first flexible manufacturing model series will launch the entire process in 2023. The all-electric vehicle won’t be available for quite some time.
Lamborghini has already experimented with hybrid electric vehicles, releasing the limited-edition Sián racing car hybrid in 2019. Only 63 of those were ever produced, whereas the hybrid engine will play a significant role in Lamborghini’s lineup of vehicles.
Beginning in 2023, things will move quite swiftly. By the end of 2024, Lamborghini guarantees that every model in its lineup will be available in hybrid form.
The fourth vehicle to be introduced in the new electrified lineup will be an all-electric version, albeit Lamborghini has only stated that it will do so before 2030.
Therefore, it might be a while before the corporation gives up on gasoline. Only connector hybrids, not the traditional hybrids that use natural gas to power an electric motor, can be expected from Lamborghini soon. Similar to the Toyota Prius.
Lamborghini going electricals – Performance
The good news is that by switching, the Lamborghini EV won’t have to give up performance.
In fact, according to the company, it will have “amazing performance” and be “the brightest star in the constellation,” placing the vehicle “at the top of its sector.” In other words, it will still provide the Lamborghini experience even though it runs on energy.
In a statement, Lamborghini discussed the difficulties in striking a balance between power, weight, and battery capacity. Because if a hypercar can’t go at dizzying speeds, what good is it? Or can’t travel more than a few kilometers at those rates due to battery limitations? The next nine years will be intriguing to watch to see how everything turns out.
Naturally, Lamborghini won’t stand by and watch energy sources disappear.
Two new vehicles will be introduced to the automaker’s V12 lineup as part of a “celebration of the combustion engine,” according to the announcement. Thus, until 2023, it appears to be business as usual.
At the location of its industrial offices in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Lamborghini outlined “a roadmap to the carbon reduction of upcoming Lamborghini models.” Before introducing a fully electric vehicle, the business will switch to hybrid models over the following ten years.
