Tata Nexon EV Facelift launched: Tata Motors has unveiled the latest version of its popular electric vehicle, the Tata Nexon EV, in India. Priced from Rs 14.74 lakh (ex-showroom), this updated electric SUV brings several improvements to both its interior and exterior design. While it shares some similarities with the conventional Nexon model, there are distinctive features that set the Nexon EV apart.

Variants:

The Tata Nexon EV is now available in two variants: MR (Medium Range) and LR (Long Range), with prices starting at Rs 14.74 lakh and going up to Rs 19.94 lakh (ex-showroom). These variants replace the earlier Prime and Max versions. Notably, the MR variant is equipped with a 0 kWh battery pack, while the LR variant boasts a larger 40.5 kWh battery unit.

Exterior Design:

The Nexon EV retains the sharp front fascia seen in the standard Nexon. It features a full-width lightbar connecting the daytime running lamps and continues in the body color up to the closed-off grille. Although the bumper design resembles the ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) Nexon, there are new patterns on the central air vents and side vents. The rear of the EV showcases changes in the bumper design and blue-colored EV badges.

Interior:

Select Nexon EV variants come with light white and gray upholstery. The higher-end models feature a 12.3-inch touchscreen display. Overall, the interior design closely mirrors that of the standard Nexon facelift. The EV also includes a full-digital 10.25-inch instrument cluster with selectable dial views and integrated maps.

Features:

The Nexon EV comes equipped with various features, such as automatic headlamps and wipers, wireless phone charging, ventilated front seats, connected car technology with over-the-air updates, integration with Alexa and Google Voice Assistant, wireless smartphone connectivity, air purifiers, a 360-degree camera, blind spot monitor, front parking sensors, tire pressure monitoring, and a premium JBL sound system with a subwoofer.

Vehicle-to-Vehicle and Vehicle-to-Load Charging:

The new Nexon EV introduces vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-load charging capabilities. These features allow the Nexon EV to power selected appliances, charge another electric vehicle, or function as a mobile power bank.

Safety:

Safety features in the Nexon EV include six airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), ESC (Electronic Stability Control), and traction control. These features align with the safety standards of the conventional Nexon model.

Motor and Range:

The Nexon EV is powered by second-generation electric motors. The mid-range variants deliver 127 bhp of power, while the long-range variants produce 143 bhp. Torque figures stand at 215 Nm for the MR model and 250 Nm for the LR model. The MR variant offers a range of 325 km on a full charge, while the LR variant boasts an impressive range of 465 km.
