Despite its huge success rate, it had to make some decisions for its reputation. One of such hardest decisions was to discontinue the Volkswagen Touareg. Volkswagen now owns served models like Tiguan, Tos, atlas, Passat, arteon, and more. One such model that was part of Volkswagen until 2018 is the Volkswagen Touareg. The production of the Volkswagen Touareg started in August 2022. They were built in the Bratislava plant. Touareg was a luxurious gross over SUV.

Touareg had three generations:

• The first generation called T, was sold from 2004 to 2007.
• Next generation T2 was similar to T1 to some extent but it was considered a slightly lifted it is sad to write that Tureg will no longer be available on the US model of T1.
• The third generation T3 came out as the most reliable one but it was only made for on-road tours. It was not that good off roads T1 and T2 were.

Features of Touareg:

One of the most important features of Touareg was its off-road reliability. Just like any other German SUV it used to perform efficiently off-road as well on roads. It is better suited at speed traction-challenged situations or well-formed dirt tracks. Even though it was built to impress car lovers Volkswagen has to cut off its production. Volkswagen has been trying hard to push its SUV lineup to buyers across the globe for years. And touring was one of the tricks they did to achieve their goal.

It is sad to write that torture will no longer be available on US soil. But we must know what went wrong with torture. Despite offering some luxury features like high-quality seating surfaces, standard 4-motion all-wheel drive, touchscreen navigation, and infotainment it was discontinued. The engine used in the Volkswagen Touareg could reach 280 hp. This vehicle provided plenty of space for a total of 5 people. It could give 3.21 cubic feet to each sitting in.

Low sales:

The number of sales has significantly decreased over the years. It had a lot of common features with other Volkswagen SUV lineups but the reason why its sales were low was because of its high manufacturer-suggested retail price. Its starting MSRP price was higher as compared to other SUVs in the Volkswagen SUV list.

The important reason why Volkswagen took this hard decision was the divided attention of buyers. Even if someone decided to buy a Touareg, he would stop himself when he saw a better SUV available at a lower price—just like that Volkswagen had some other amazing options like the Tiguan and Atlas Cross sp[ort. So the buyers would decide to buy that one which possesses every virtue of the best SUV at a lower price.

Here comes another reason to justify why Volkswagen discontinued Touareg. It’s a natural trait that we look after those things that are more faithful to us. Similarly, Volkswagen shifted all the concentration toward those vehicles that had high sales rates. They put all their efforts into those vehicles and tried to make them even more luxurious and better.

In 2004, the Touareg was launched. Its starting price was around 34,900 dollars. However, the price rate changed with varying models and options. Likely the price of Touareg reached 49,495 in 2017. The price was increased but the number of sales decreased. Since December 2012 Touareg has not sold 1000 within a month. In 2016 the number of sales of this model was 4,223 which was extremely low. So the company decided to make efforts to make these cars more efficient for people.

Ever-evolving market demands:

People have different choices and preferences with time. It’s the company’s responsibility to keep an eye on these varying demands. Volkswagen also did the same by replacing Touareg with vehicles people were more interested in. This adds up to another reason to discontinue it. They analyzed the customer’s feedback which helped them know what consumers’ preferences are right now.
