Volkswagen is a German automobile manufacturer. Its main motto is to build mass-produced cars for car lovers. They have been working for their aim since 1937.Its headquarter is in Wolfsburg. Volkswagen introduced bundles of lush cars to the world. One such model which gained much popularity was the Volkswagen Jetta.

Common cement of Volkswagen Jetta:

This luxurious automobile made its way into the automotive world after its launch in 1979. In August 1979 during the Frankfurt auto show at the Wolfsburg plant, it was revealed to the world market.

Some basic features:

This model after it was launched made its way directly to the hearts of car lovers due to some exceptional features. It was a car that could be called a family car because it was small and compact. This model has been marketed over seven generations as Sigitar, Atlantic, Clasico, Vento, Bora, City Jetta, GLI, and Jetta.  It was a five-seater with an automatic transmission type.

Problems with Volkswagen Jetta 2014

The Volkswagen Jetta was a favorite choice of many drivers and for them, it was a delight to drive. Many considered it as a bold choice in a world where many loved Toyotas and Hyundais. It even became the most selling European car in the United States and some other famous countries like Canada and Mexico.

Despite its fame in Europe, Turkey, and Germany this car had some drawbacks. One of the main features that this car offered was the powertrain option, but this feature itself caused errors in the reliability and safety of users which caused a step down for this model among its competitors. The car lovers would go to the models and brands that provide them with not only fun and delight but also safety and reliability. The Volkswagen Jetta 2014, came to have some safety, mechanical, and technical problems that will be discussed here.

Transmission complications:

One of the leading troubles for users and a complaint common to all drivers was transmission damage. Reports said that there was a risk of fine due to transmission damage. The basic fault was in the transmission oil cooler. The transmission oil cooler lets the coolant come in content with transmission fluid that causes serious complications. This fault was due to mechanical errors which caused mechatronic system failure, TCU model failure, and clutch overheating. This problem was a solution but it was very costly. As a company found its replacement.

Order from HVAC vents:

Another common problem that was raised by some owners was a musty odor. It was some kind of unusual odor found in any redesigns from 1993, 2003, and 2005 to 2014. The main cause of this odor was condensation. The condensation happened in the AC and heating system after the car had been seated for more than two hours. We all know that where there is a problem there is a solution too. Same in this case, as a cleaner was available for the heat case. But even after the availability of the solution, it did not touch the hearts of users.

Window regulator failure:

The third drawback that this car held was window regulator failure. In luxury cars, one basic feature is a power window and so is the Volkswagen Jetta. However, the windows in the Volkswagen Jetta were unable to move up and down because of a fault in the regulator. 0it was caused due to some kind of fuse and relay in the electrical system. In this case, the windows got stuck and the users were offended.

DPF warning light:

In some cases, PDF (diesel particulate filter) shows light on the dashboard. His light indicates a warning sign which indicates that the DPF has blocked. This failure leads to exhausting dilemmas and complications. DPF is responsible for cleaner emissions from the exhaust system and you can imagine what the consequence blockage can cause.

Problems related to the electrical system:

The problem related to the electric system was indicated by many drivers of the Volkswagen Jetta in 2014. The problems include ignition switch issues and headlamp failure, problems with ignition switch issues are serious. The problem is with the switch which is responsible for starting the car. It used to get jammed and it was difficult for the drivers to turn the car on and off.

Headlamp failure or front headlight failure was life-damaging. So the drivers with Volkswagen Jetta with this issue had to replace their headlamps. The failed headlamps were mainly replaced by fused bulbs. This replacement has frequently given a solution for this problem but SRS did not feel secure with a car model with such a defective electrical system. This also made its position down among its competitors.

Airbag issues:

As we have discussed earlier the main problem that was always Jetta as a deficient was unreliability due to less safe measures. One such safety problem was airbag problems. This malfunction of airbags caused serious safety problems. The module lost its electric contact with ECU due to some issues in the steering clock spring, As a result of this loss of contact, the airbag light remained illuminated. In some cases, it also failed to deploy in the event of a crash. This risk was even a risk to one’s life. All these problems contributed to the Volkswagen Jetta 2014 being called an unreliable car.

Engine misfire:

This error used to occur as a result of a failed ignition coil or spark plug fires. It resulted in the illumination of the dreaded check engine light. This issue was solved by replacement of the ignition coil to prevent the case from this error.

Summary

When an automobile brand offers such problems it fails to gain attention. However, Volkswagen kept changing their models and kept resharing their models. As a consequence, despite all the problems and controversies in 2014, and 2015 sales began to rise in 2018. Even the Volkswagen Jetta remains the most sought-after model Volkswagen. They added new strategies also to increase their sales. One such strategy is their 6-year/72,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warrant. This also helped them gain many buyers.
