Key Highlight
Tata Motors has unveiled the production version of its Curvv coupe SUV, initially showcased as a concept in 2022. The final design remains close to the concept, with minor changes in exterior details. The Curvv will be available in electric, petrol, and diesel versions, with the electric model expected to launch on August 7, 2024. The Curvv aims to compete in the compact SUV segment with its stylish design, advanced technology, and multiple powertrain options.
Tata Curvv Coupe SUV Unveiled
Tata Motors has revealed the final production form of its Curvv coupe SUV. Originally showcased as an electric concept in April 2022 and later in its ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) form in January 2023, Curvv’s production version stays true to its concept with only a few minor changes.
Exterior Design
The Tata Curvv’s exterior design closely follows the concept’s look. The electric version replaces exterior cameras with regular rear-view mirrors. The daytime running lights (DRLs) no longer extend into the bonnet, and the rear spoiler is now a single, smaller unit. The front design resembles the Tata Nexon but features unique touches for the EV and ICE versions. The electric Curvv has a nose-mounted charging flap, and its lower bumper has vertical styling elements. In contrast, the ICE version features smaller horizontal elements on the lower bumper and grille area. Both versions share triangular recesses for the headlights and a DRL unit stretching across the width.
From the side, the Curvv has a longer, sloping coupe roofline and squarish wheel arches. The ICE version has a fuel filler flap on the left rear fender and 5-spoke petal-like alloys, while the EV features closed-off alloy rims for better aerodynamics. Both versions have pop-out flush door handles and prominent black cladding below. The rear design includes a single-piece spoiler with a central dip, mimicking the concept’s split spoiler. The tail-light unit stretches across the rear, and the lower bumper section has a silver trim, with the exhaust hidden in the ICE version.
Interior Features
Tata Motors has not fully revealed the interior of the Curvv, but a VR display provided a glimpse of what to expect. The interior shares many elements with the Tata Nexon, including a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo, a floating touchscreen, and touch-panel controls. The Curvv will offer different color schemes, with a dashboard trim panel finished in metallic silver carbon-fiber weave and a lower leather section in rich maroon. Tata Motors promises best-in-class technology for the Curvv’s interior.
Engine and Powertrains
The Tata Curvv will be available in electric, petrol, and diesel versions. The electric Curvv is set to launch first, likely on August 7, 2024, with the petrol and diesel versions to follow. This multi-powertrain approach aims to cater to various customer needs and preferences. The EV version offers a front charging port behind the Tata logo, while the ICE version features a grill area for engine cooling.

Competition and Market Positioning
The Tata Curvv will compete in the compact SUV segment, which includes models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Toyota Hyryder. Tata Motors aims to position the Curvv as a stylish and premium offering in this competitive segment. The Curvv’s combination of a raised ride height, muscular design, coupe roofline, and large wheels is expected to attract customers looking for a bold and unique vehicle.
Expected Price
Tata Motors has not yet announced the pricing for the Curvv. However, the company has stated that the coupe SUV’s pricing, powertrain choices, and various variants will ensure it competes effectively in the midsize SUV segment. The Curvv is expected to follow Tata’s trend of offering competitively priced vehicles with premium features.
